The lotus flower symbolizes purity and calmness, blooming beautifully even in muddy waters. Inspired by its elegance, these Lotus Flower Shrink Plastic Earrings are a perfect handmade project for jewelry lovers.
In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to transform a flat shrink-plastic sheet into delicate pink lotus petals paired with green glass drops — light, soft, and full of spring energy.
Materials & Tools
To make your own Lotus Flower Shrink Plastic Earrings, prepare:
Shrink plastic sheets
Scissors and hole puncher
White pencil or fine marker
Pink pastel or colored chalk
Tweezers
Heat gun or oven
Green teardrop beads
Gold jump rings and earring hooks
All necessary tools can be purchased here.
Step 1. Draw and Cut the Lotus Shape
Start by sketching a four-petal lotus shape on your shrink plastic sheet. Cut it carefully along the outline — smooth edges make the final result more polished.
Step 2. Add Petal Details
Use a white pencil or fine tool to gently etch natural lines onto each petal. This texture gives your Lotus Flower Earrings more dimension and realism.
Step 3. Add Color Gradient & Punch a Center Hole
Scrape pink pastel with a craft knife and lightly blend it from the petal tips toward the center. Keep the middle lighter — this creates a natural color transition just like a real lotus.
Make a small hole in the center before heating. This will be used later to connect the bead and earring hook.
Step 4. Heat and Shape
Use a heat gun to warm the piece evenly. As it shrinks, the petals will curl up naturally. While still soft, use tweezers to gently press the center to form a three-dimensional bowl shape.
Step 5. Assemble the Earring
Attach a green teardrop bead using a gold jump ring through the center hole. Then add the earring hook on top. The soft pink petals and green drops combine into an elegant lotus bloom.

Step 6. Finishing Touches
You can coat the petals with UV resin or clear varnish for extra shine and protection. Once cured, your Lotus Flower Shrink Plastic Earrings are ready to wear or gift!
Care Tips
Avoid long sun exposure or perfume contact. Store your earrings separately in a small jewelry pouch to protect the surface.
